Afriland Properties, Two Others Lift NASD Bourse by 2.73%

Three bellwether stocks lifted the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 2.73 per cent on Tuesday, June 11, ahead of the public holiday on Wednesday for Democracy Day in Nigeria.

This increased the value of the NASD bourse by N55.61 billion at the close of transactions to N2.094 trillion from the N2.038 trillion recorded a day earlier, as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) jumped by 40.59 points to wrap the session at 1,243.47 points compared with 1,207.16 points recorded at the previous session.

Afriland Properties Plc gained N1.26 during the session to end at N18.30 per unit versus N17.04 per unit, Aradel Holdings Plc appreciated by N245.13 to N5,020.13 per share compared with Monday’s N4,775.00, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc grew by 58 Kobo to sell at N44.34 per unit versus N43.76 per unit.

Aradel Holdings posted the growth yesterday as it prepares to leave the bourse where it has seen its fortune more than quadruple in the last year. It will now move to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited by introduction to seek more fortune and opportunities.

Yesterday, Central Securities Clearing System (CSC) Plc depreciated by 10 Kobo to close at N19.89 per share, in contrast to the preceding trading day’s price of N19.99 per share.

Investors exchanged 602,380 units of securities on Tuesday compared with the 610,967 units of securities traded in the previous day, indicating a decline of 1.4 per cent, while the value of trades increased by 85.2 per cent to N303.4 million from N163.8 million, with the number of deals growing by 13 per cent to 52 deals from 46 deals.

Aradel Holdings Plc ended the session as the most active equity by value (year-to-date) with 6.0 million units valued at N15.2 billion, followed by CSCS Plc with 101.3 million units worth N2.5 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc with 228.6 million units sold for N1.1 billion.

Capital Hotels Plc was the most traded equity by volume (year-to-date) with 228.6 million units valued at N1.1 billion, trailed by Mixta Real Estate Plc with 139.9 million units worth N240.1 million, and CSCS Plc with the sale of 101.3 million units for N2.5 billion.
