Afriland Properties, UBN Property, Others Raise NASD Index by 2.70%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 2.70 per cent appreciation on Tuesday, April 23 after four stocks ensured that the bourse extended its positive run.

The four price gainers were led by UBN Property Plc, which increased its value by 15 Kobo to close at N1.80 per unit compared with the previous trading day’s N1.65. Aradel Holdings Plc appreciated by N159.10 to settle at N2,184.10 per share versus Monday’s closing price of N2,025.00 per share, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc moved up by N1.00 to sell at N21.00 per unit versus N20.00 per unit, and Afriland Properties Plc appreciated by 37 Kobo to trade at N10.47 per share compared with the previous day’s N10.10 per share.

During the session, two securities depreciated and were led by Geo-Fluids Plc, which lost 25 Kobo to end at N2.24 per unit, in contrast to the preceding day’s price of N2.49 per unit, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc declined by 10 Kobo to quote at N64.90 per share versus Monday’s value of N65.00 per share.

At the close of business, the market capitalisation of the bourse surged by N39.65 billion to N1.508 trillion from N1.468 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) rose by 28.96 points to wrap the session at 1,101.32 points compared with 1,072.36 points recorded at the previous session.

The activity chart showed that the volume of shares traded yesterday increased by 29,928 per cent to 3.1 million from the 10,300 units recorded a day earlier, and the value of securities traded by investors appreciated by 645.7 per cent to N152.3 million from N20.4 million, as the number of deals jumped by 600 per cent to 28 deals from the four deals carried out in the previous trading day.

Aradel Holdings Plc finished the session as the most active stock by value (year-to-date) with 3.8 million units valued at N7.4 billion, CSCS Plc has traded 45.2 million units worth N1.3 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc has sold 228.6 million for N1.1 billion.

The most active stock by volume (year-to-date) remained Capital Hotels Plc with 228.6 million valued at N1.1 billion, IPWA Plc has transacted 79.9 million units for N40.0 million, and Mixta Real Estate Plc has exchanged 69.9 million units worth N114.6 million.
