The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange opened the week on a positive note on Monday, November 28, by appreciating by 0.02 per cent at the close of business.
During the trading session, the total value of the NASD OTC exchange increased by N180 million to settle at N935.30 billion compared with last Friday’s closing value of N935.12 billion.
In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went up by 0.13 points to wrap the session at 711.79 points compared with 711.66 points in the previous session.
At the opening session of the week, the stock price of Afriland Properties Plc rose by 13 Kobo to close at N1.38 per share, in contrast to the N1.25 per share it closed at the preceding session. The property investment firm was the only price mover yesterday as the share price of other companies remained unchanged.
Yesterday, there was a decrease in the volume of securities traded at the bourse by investors by 62.9 per cent as only 30,616 units of stocks exchanged hands compared with the 82,515 units of stocks transacted last Friday.
Also, the value of the equities traded by the market participants reduced by 44.9 per cent to N737,540 from the N5.5 million reported at the previous session.
These trades were executed in four deals, in contrast to the single deal completed in the preceding trading session, indicating an improvement of 300 per cent.
At the close of trading activities on Monday, AG Mortgage Bank Plc retained its spot as the most tarded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 2.3 billion units worth N1.2 billion, followed by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc with 687.8 million units valued at N14.3 billion, and Lighthouse Financial Services Plc with 224.7 million units valued at N112.3 million.
Similarly, CSCS Plc ended the trading day as the most active stock by value (year-to-date) with 687.8 million units worth N14.3 billion, trailed by VFD Group Plc with 29.1 million units valued at N7.7 billion, and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc with 16.4 million units worth N1.8 billion.
