Aiteo Reopens Nembe Creek Trunk Line After Two Weeks

Barely two weeks after it announced the closure of the Nembe Creek Trunk Line (NCTL), Aiteo Group has resumed export of crude oil from the facility.

Business Post reports that on April 21, 2019, a fire outbreak occurred at the trunk line, which affected its used, making the company, which operate OML 29 and the NCTL, to declare a force majeure.

But after successfully completing emergency repairs on the strategic pipeline, Aiteo has resumed operations at the area.

It advised all oil companies transporting crude via the pipeline to re-align and commence start-up formalities immediately.

In a statement on Friday, the oil firm confirmed that, “Our Emergency Pipeline Repair teams have successfully completed leak repair activities on all reported leak points on the NCTL.”

“Consequently, all injectors have been advised to re-align and commence start-up formalities immediately and advise on their start up times,” it added.
