Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has promised investors of an enabling environment, saying his administration was determined to boost the economy of the state.
Speaking on Wednesday at his office in Akure, the Governor said Ondo will not make the mistake Nigeria made some years ago, where industries left the country for friendly environments.
“When factories left in Nigeria, we felt bad but we can’t blame them because they didn’t have enabling and accommodating economic atmosphere.
“I can assure you it will be a thing of the past in Ondo State if not Nigeria, for factories to leave due to the environment,” he said.
Mr Akeredolu, who received the management of Rubber Estate Nigeria Limited, stated further that agriculture was very vital to the state.
In his remarks, Chairman of Rubber Estate Nigeria Limited, Mr Ayo Olagundoye, thanked the Governor for his warm reception and vision for Ondo State.
He said his firm would do everything to contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of the state.
Mr Olagundoye said that, “REN is a partner of the Ondo State government and is ready to contribute to taking this state back to its proud roots in agriculture.”
He added that, “Our growth contributes to commerce and the states Internally Generated Revenue, and investment income.
“There will be great mutual benefit in a partnership arrangement and a lot to gain, we have to work together to get the benefits.”
