Alternative Bourse Extends Rally by 0.92% as Four Stocks Rise

Appreciation in the prices of four stocks saw the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange continue its positive start to the week with a 0.92 per cent rise on Tuesday, October 10.

Without any price decliner, the market capitalisation of the alternative bourse increased by 11.13 billion to close at N1.107 trillion versus the N1.096 trillion it finished in the preceding session, as the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) ended the day higher by 7.47 points to 816.49 points from the preceding day’s 809.02 points.

Yesterday, Aradel Holdings Plc improved its value by N42.02 to trade at N600.00 per share versus the previous day’s N557.98 per share, UBN Property Plc rose by 7 Kobo to end at N1.47 per unit versus N1.40 per unit, Acorn Petroleum Plc increased its price by 4 Kobo to close the day at 44 Kobo per unit compared with Monday’s price of 40 Kobo, and Food Concepts gained 2 Kobo to quote at N1.60 per unit, in contrast to the previous day’s N1.58 per unit.

During the session, there was a 30.8 per cent slide in the volume of securities traded at the bourse to 1.2 million units from 1.8 million units, there was a 31.1 per cent decline in the value of shares traded yesterday to N126.6 million from N183.5 million, and the number of deals went down by 48.6 per cent to 18 deals from 35 deals.

At the close of business, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc remained the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.2 billion units valued at N22.2 billion, UBN Property Plc was in second place with 951.2 million units valued at N949.0 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 668.2 units worth N1.2 billion.

CSCS Plc was also the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 1.2 billion units valued at N22.2 billion, VFD Group was in second place with 26.6 million units worth N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc was in third place with 6.7 million units valued at N2.5 billion.
