Aradel Holdings Plc and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria buoyed the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange to record its best performance in the week with a 4.57 per cent rise on Friday, August 23.
The market capitalisation added N95.88 billion to close at N2.192 trillion compared with the N2.096 trillion it closed at the previous session and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) recorded a rise of 69.97 points to end the day at 1,600.16 points as against 1,530.19 points it recorded at the previous session.
Aradel led the gainer after its price went up by N437.50 to sell at N5,437.50 per unit compared to N5,000.00 per unit and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria gained 53 Kobo to trade at N48.00 per share, in contrast to Thursday’s closing price of N47.47 per share.
Conversely, Mass Telecom Innovation Plc depreciated during the trading session by 4 Kobo to close at 41 Kobo per unit compared with the previous day’s 45 Kobo per unit.
The volume of securities traded at the bourse during the trading day decreased by 28.9 per cent to 99,091 units from the 139,315 units recorded a day earlier, the value of trades shrank by 30.4 per cent to N284.8 million from N409.1 million, and the number of deals went down by 44.6 per cent to 41 deals from the 74 deals posted in the previous trading session.
Aradel Holdings Plc, with a turnover of 9.9 million units valued at N33.1 billion, remained the most active equity by value on a year-to-date basis, followed by Afriland Properties Plc with 292.9 million units sold for N5.2 billion, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc with 105.8 million units worth N2.5 billion.
Afriland Properties Plc ended the day as the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 292.8 million units sold for N5.2 billion, trailed by Capital Hotels Plc with 259.6 million units valued at N1.3 billion, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc with 218.8 million units worth N46.1 million.
