The board of one of the top insurers in Nigeria, Axa Mansard Insurance Plc, has announced approving the payment of dividend to its shareholders for the period ended December 31, 2017.

In a statement issued yesterday to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Axa Mansard said the dividend would only be paid to existing shareholders at a limiting date to be announced later.

The approval for the payment of dividend was given at the board’s meeting held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.

Also during the board meeting, the company’s audited financial statements together with the Directors and Auditor’s reports for the financial year ended December 31, 2017 were approved.

However, the approved audited financial statements and accounts have been forwarded to the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) for approval as required by the sector’s regulatory agency.

The board of Axa Mansard promised to make the financial statements public as soon as it receives the nod of NAICOM.

Meanwhile, in compliance with the NSE Rules as amended, the company has reiterate that all Directors or persons considered as a Restricted Person under the company’s Securities Dealing Policy are prohibited from trading in AXA Mansard securities during the “Restriction period; February 14, 2018 until 24 hours” after the release of the Audited Financial Statements of the company for the year ended December 31, 2017 to the NSE and the general public.
