A notable economic analyst, Mr Bismarck Rewane, has left the board of Guinness Nigeria Plc, one of the leading brewery companies in the country.
Mr Rewane joined the board of the bear maker as a non-executive director in 2008 and during his time, he contributed immensely to the growth of the organisation.
He also held different positions, serving as the Chairman of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee of the board of directors of Guinness Nigeria.
In a notice to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), the brewery giant disclosed that the exit of Mr Rewane from the board became effective Thursday, December 31, 2020.
In appreciation, the board thanked Mr Rewane for his leadership, focus and commitment to the success of the company and wished him the best in his future endeavours.
“This is to inform the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the investing public and other stakeholders of the resignation of Mr Bismarck Jemide Rewane from the board of Guinness Nigeria Plc with effect from December 31, 2020.
“Mr Bismarck Jemide Rewane, who until his resignation served as the Chairman of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee of the board, was appointed to the board of Guinness Nigeria Plc as a non-executive director in 2008.
“The board of Guinness Nigeria would like to express its appreciation to Mr Bismarck Jemide Rewane for his leadership, focus and commitment to the success of the company and wish him the best in his future endeavours,” the disclosure said.
Business Post reports that the exit of Mr Rewane from the board of Guinness Nigeria comes barely a year after he retired from the board of FCMB Plc.
Mr Rewane, who is the MD/CEO of Financial Derivatives Company, graduated from the University of Ibadan in 1972 with a degree in Economics. He is also an Associate of The Institute of Bankers, England and Wales.
He also serves on the board of Top Feeds Nigeria Ltd, Delta Packaging Nigeria Ltd, Seepec Nigeria Ltd, Nigerian Economic Summit Group, Modant Marine Ltd, Virgin Nigeria Airways Ltd, Nigeria LNG Foundation, UBA Custodian Ltd, UNIC Insurance Plc and Navgas (a Vitol subsidiary).
