BREAKING: National Assembly Allots N125b to Self in 2017 Budget

Reports reaching Business Post from Abuja indicates that the National Assembly (NASS) has approved the sum of N125 billion to itself in the 2017 budget it is yet to pass.

A breakdown of the document posted by the Senate on its official Facebook page on Thursday afternoon showed that N12.9 billion was allocated for the management of the NASS for the 2017 financial year.

The summary of the proposed 2017 Budget of the Nigerian National Assembly showed that the Senate plans to spend N31.4 billion during the year, while the House of Representatives is proposing to use N49.1 billion.

Furthermore, the sum of N2.4 billion was earmarked for NASS Service Commission, while a total of N9.6 billion was allotted to cater for legislative aides.

Also, the sum of N118.9 million was allocated to cater for PAC-Senate, while N142.7 million is for PAC House.

For the General Services of the NASS, the sum of N12.6 billion was proposed for use, while the sum of N4.4 billion is for NASS Legislative Institute and N391.4 million for service-wide vote.
