Buhari Appoints Bello as NEXIM Bank MD

Mr Abubakar Abba Bello has been appointed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Export-Import (NEXIM) Bank.

Mr Bello’s appointment was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.

Also, the President approved the appointment of Dr Bala Mohammed Bello as the Executive Director in charge of Corporate Services at the bank as well as Mrs Stella Okotete as the Executive Director in charge of Business Development.

According to a statement signed by the Director of Press in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Mr Bolaji Adebiyi, the appointments are with immediate effect.

Mr Abubakar Abba Bello, a member of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and also a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, has been an Executive Director at Unity Bank Plc since January 9, 2014.

Strong Inflationary Pressures Keep Nigeria’s Private Sector PMI Down

By Modupe Gbadeyanka Strong inflationary pressures in November further negatively impacted companies in Nigeria, with new orders and output both falling as customers were either reluctant or unable to pay higher charges. Purchase prices rose at the fastest pace in almost two years amid exchange rate weakness and higher costs for fuel and materials. According to the latest Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) from Stanbic IBTC, business conditions remained under pressure, scoring 48.0 points last month compared with the 49.1 points it garnered in October 2023. Readings above 50.0 signal an improvement in business conditions, while readings below 50.0 show deterioration.

Naira Plunges 11.4% to N927/$1 at Official Market as FX Demand Rises

FG Approves Agric Institute in Nasarawa

Transcorp Confirms Acquisition of 5.52% Stake by Otedola
