All is set for the commencement of the quarterly meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The meeting begins today, Monday, May 22, 2017 and will end on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. After the meeting on Tuesday, the CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, is expected to address the media on outcome of the meeting.
Business Post gathered that the programme, which enters its 256th edition, is slated to hold at the MPC Meeting Room, located at the 11th Floor, Wing C of the CBN Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
Part of what to be discussed at the meeting is the interest rate. Members of the committee will look at the economy and possibly take decisions that would further assist Nigeria out of recession.
The committee is mostly like to retain the interest rate at 14 percent like it has done in the past meetings.
