Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has explained that his trip to China was to attract foreign investors to the state to boost its economy.
Speaking on Wednesday in Benin City, Mr Obaseki said his administration was ready to partner both local and foreign investors in the area of power generation and agriculture.
He said, “We are also seeking co-investment in the area of power plant in Gelegele. We have identified two locations to be used for this purpose.”
The Governor, who spoke shortly after attending the graduation ceremony of the class of 2016 trainee and technician of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, (BEDC) Plc, said the AZURA power project would be ready hopefully by the end of the third quarter of this year.”
Mr Obaseki said his administration will continue to open its doors to those interested in investing in the state.
He further disclosed that he will continue to create enabling environment for youths to be productive.
