CSCS Lifts NASD Bourse 0.51% in Friday Session

The trading of unlisted securities at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange ended on a positive note on Friday as it appreciated by 0.51 per cent at the close of business.

This was influenced by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, which gained 96 Kobo in the final trading session of the week to trade at N13.59 per share compared with the previous day’s value of N12.63 per share.

At the close of business, the value of the NASD bourse, which is measured by the market capitalisation index, grew by N4.8 billion, as it finished at N939.72 billion versus the N934.92 billion it ended a day earlier.

In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) grew by 3.65 points to wrap the session at 715.15 points compared with 711.50 points in the previous session.

A look at the activity chart showed that there was a drop in the volume of securities traded at the bourse during the session by 76.2 per cent, as investors exchanged 147,234 units, in contrast to the 618,363 units reported on Thursday.

Equally, the value of shares traded during the session went down by 88.2 per cent to N12.4 million from the N105.4 million posted on Thursday.

These transactions were completed in seven deals, in contrast to the 32 deals achieved in the preceding trading day, indicating a decline of 78.1 per cent.

At the close of business, Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 339.8 million units valued at N337.6 million, UBN Property Plc stood in second place with 294.0 units worth N247.8 million, while VFD Group Plc was in third place with 7.1 million units valued at N1.6 billion.

VFD Group Plc also ended the session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 7.1 million units valued at N1.6 billion, Geo-Fluids Plc followed with 339.8 million units worth N337.6 million, and UBN Property Plc was in third place with 294.0 million units valued at N247.8 million.
