CSCS Lifts NASD Securities Exchange by 0.09%

Appreciation in the stock price of Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc lifted the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 0.09 per cent on Monday, November 17.

CSCS Plc, which was the sole price mover in the opening session of the week, rose by 40 Kobo to close at N40.80 per share versus N40.40 per share.

This boosted the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) by 3.34 points to 3,616.57 points from the 3,613.23 points quoted in the preceding trading session, and the market capitalisation added N2.00 billion to settle at N2.163 trillion compared with the N2.161 trillion it ended last Friday.

During the session, the volume of securities traded by investors went down by 99.5 per cent to 192,460 units from the previous 2.2 million units, the value of securities decreased by 90.8 per cent to N7.6 million from N82.9 million, and the number of deals dropped by 28.6 per cent to 15 deals from 21 deals.

Infrastructure Credit Guarantee Company (InfraCredit) Plc remained the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 5.8 billion units worth N16.4 billion, followed by Okitipupa Plc with 170.4 million units valued at N8.0 billion, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.4 million units traded for N4.2 billion.

Also, InfraCredit Plc finished the trading day as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 5.8 billion units sold for N16.4 billion, trailed by Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc with 1.2 billion units transacted for N419.7 million, and Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units valued at N524.9 million.
