CSCS, Two Others Buoy Unlisted Bourse by 0.29%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its positive run and closed the last trading session of the week in positive territory as it rose 0.29 per cent on Friday, June 9.

The NASD market capitalisation, as a result, rose by N2.91 billion to N1.014 trillion from N1.011 trillion, while the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) appreciated by 2.11 points to end the day at 733.14 points as against 731.03 points it recorded at the previous session.

The bullishness came from the trio of Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, and Acorn Petroleum Plc.

CSCS Plc made a 57 Kobo gain to end the day at N13.83 per share compared to N14.40 per share it previously quoted, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc rose by 2 Kobo to N70.00 per unit from N69.98 per unit, and Acorn Petroleum Plc expanded by 1 Kobo to sell at 17 Kobo per unit versus the previous session’s 16 Kobo per unit.

There was a 36.5 per cent slump in the volume of securities traded at the session by investors to 1.3 million units from the 2.1 million units reported a day earlier, the value of shares trended downwards by 90.4 per cent to N3.1 million from N32.2 million, while the number of deals increased by 12.5 per cent to 18 deals from the 16 deals achieved on Thursday.

The market closed with no price loser.

Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) for selling 833.1 million units worth N1.3 billion, IGI Plc stood in second place for trading 628.3 units worth N49.5 million, while UBN Property Plc was in third place for exchanging 395.9 million units valued at N336.6 million.

VFD Group Plc closed the trading session as the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with the sale of 11.0 million units valued at N2.5 billion, Geo-Fluids Plc was second with 833.1 million units worth N1.3 billion, while FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc was in third place with 17.8 million units valued at N1.3 billion.
