Mr Lamis Shehu Dikko has been announced by Eterna Plc as its Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company.
A statement signed by the firm’s Secretary, Bunmi Agagu, disclosed that Mr Shehu Dikko, with his appointment, will bring to the board his vast corporate experience and a deep understanding of today’s governance environment.
Mr Shehu Dikko, a graduate of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, before now, was appointed to the board of Eterna Plc as a Non-Executive Director in October 2016.
The new Chairman, who is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School Leadership Programme and Queen Mary College, University of London, started his career at the Kaduna State Radio as Producer of News and Current Affairs, from where he moved to the Nigerian Standard Newspaper as Sub-Editor.
He lectured briefly at College of Advanced Studies, Zaria before veering into the Banking Industry in 1986.
He joined Intercity Bank PLC in 1998 as General Manager and rose to become the Bank’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer in 2001, a position he occupied until 2005.
He subsequently joined Unity Bank Plc as Executive Director, Commercial Banking and later became the Chairman of the Board.
He has served on several Boards including Enterprise Bank Limited. He is currently the Chairman of the Infrastructure Bank Plc and a Non-Executive Director at Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc.
Eterna Plc, a company with its head office in Lagos, is the sole licensee of Castrol products in Nigeria.
