Farmers in Ogun Undergo Training

Some farmers in Ogun State are undergoing training in value chain development in preparation for the 2017 production season.

This programme was put in place by the Federal Government in an effort to improve the value chain in the agricultural sector.

It was gathered that over 5,000 farmers in five different local governments in Ogun State will benefit from the presidency season Value Chain Development Programme for farmers.

According to the Coordinator of the scheme, Mr Samuel Adeogun, the pre-season training was meant to prepare farmers for the 2017 production season and to review activities of previous years.

He made this known during the training held in Obafemi-Owode local government area of Ogun State.

Commissioner for Agriculture, Mrs Adepeju Adebajo, while commenting on the programme, stated that the said farm mechanization equipment have been purchased to ameliorate challenges faced by the farmers, noting that it would enhance their productivity.
