A fire incident has been reported at a petrol depot in the Ijora Badia area of Lagos State.

The inferno occurred on Thursday at a tank farm belonging to Oando Plc, an energy company listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the cause of the fire could not be immediately confirmed as at the time of the update this afternoon.

However, the agency said it was still battling to put the situation under control as its officials have been deployed to the scene of the fire.

LASEMA, in the notice, disclosed that the intensity of the fire “is very high,” but other agencies are present to render assistance in battling “the inferno to curtail it from escalating to other tanks in the depot.”

It listed some of the agencies currently at the scene of the fire as the Federal Fire Service, the Lagos State Fire Service, the Nigerian Navy Fire, Nigerian Police and Forte Oil Fire Service.

Business Post gathered that the inferno is precisely at the Oando Tank Farm located on Gaskiya Road, Ijora Badia, Lagos.
