Five Securities Lift NASD OTC Exchange by 1.02%

Five price gainers triggered a 1.02 per cent increase at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Thursday, August 14, raising the market capitalisation by N22.01 billion to N2.171 trillion from N2.149 trillion on Wednesday.

In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went up during the trading session by 36.79 points to finish at 3,628.67 points, in contrast to the 3,591.88 points it ended the preceding trading day.

Yesterday, Okitipupa Plc gained N20.81 to end at N237.00 per share versus the previous day’s N216.19 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc increased by N1.00 to N67.84 per unit from N66.84 per unit, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc expanded by 48 Kobo to finish at N48.68 per share compared with the previous day’s N48.20 per share, Food Concepts Plc added 31 Kobo to close at N3.42 per unit versus the N3.11 per unit it ended at midweek, and Mixta Real Estate Plc soared by 10 Kobo to trade at N2.10 per share, in contrast to the previous closing price of N2.00 per share.

At the trading session, there were three price losers, with Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC) Plc dropping 30 Kobo to settle at N3.08 per unit versus N3.38 per unit.

Further, Food Concepts Plc recorded a 4 Kobo loss to quote at N3.07 per share compared with the previous day’s N3.11 per share, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc declined by 1 Kobo to finish at 52 Kobo per unit versus 53 Kobo per unit.

The volume of securities went up by 85.8 per cent to 22.9 million units from 12.3 million units, the number of deals increased by 21.6 per cent to 43 deals from 29 deals, and the trading value depleted by 95.9 per cent to N925.6 million from N925.6 million.

At the close of business, Okitipupa Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 158.6 million units sold for N5.9 billion, with Air Liquide Plc following for selling 507.2 million units for N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc in the third place with a turnover of 43.8 million units valued at N1.9 billion.

The most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis remained IGI Plc with 1.1 billion units worth N379.6 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units traded for N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million units transacted for N4.2 billion.
