Four Securities Lift NASD OTC Exchange by 1.87%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 1.87 per cent appreciation on Friday, March 8 after four stocks ended on the price gainers’ table.

The advancers were FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, Aradel Holdings Plc, and UBN Property Plc.

Analysis indicated that FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc gained N5.95 to end the session at N73.95 per unit versus the preceding day’s N68.00 per unit, CSCS Plc appreciated by 88 Kobo to sell at N20.13 per share versus N19.13 per share, Aradel Holdings Plc grew by N50.00 to N2,000.00 per unit from N1,950.00 per unit, and UBN Property Plc jumped by 1 Kobo to N1.74 per share from N1.73 per share.

As a result, the value of the bourse increased by N26.94 billion to N1.469 trillion from N1.442 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) rose by 19.87 points to wrap the session at 1,083.85 points compared with 1,063.98 points recorded at the previous session.

Yesterday, the value of securities traded by investors slightly went down by 5.9 per cent to N52.3 million from N55.6 million, but the volume of securities traded by traders surged by 349.2 per cent to 1.9 million units from 424,985 units.

These transactions were completed in 25 deals compared with the 15 deals carried out in the previous trading session, indicating a 66.7 per cent rise.

Aradel Holdings Plc, with a turnover of 2.0 million units valued at N4.4 billion, remained the most active equity by value on a year-to-date basis. This was followed by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 4.6 million units sold for N348.5 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc with 48.0 million units worth N118.7 million.

Mixta Real Estate Plc, with the sale of 69.9 million units for N114.5 million, closed the last trading session of the week as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis, followed by IPWA Plc with a turnover of 48.9 million units worth N24.4 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc with the sale of 48.0 million units valued at N118.7 million.
