The duo of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc and Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc suppressed the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 0.26 per cent on Wednesday, July 6.
This pulled the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) down by 1.98 points to wrap the session at 771.91 points compared with 773.89 points recorded in the previous session. In the same vein, the market capitalisation depreciated during the session by N2.60 billion to N1.016 billion from N1.019 billion it closed in the preceding session.
During the session, the price of FrieslandCampina went down by N1.63 to settle at N100.73 per unit in contrast to the previous day’s N101.73 per unit while CSCS Plc depreciated by 3 Kobo to sell at N14.27 per share compared with the preceding session’s N14.30 per share.
In the midst of the depressing outcome, the unlisted securities bourse reported an improvement in the level of transactions as the trading volume, value and number of deals appreciated at the close of business.
The volume of transacted stocks increased by 6,304.3 per cent to 34.4 million units from the 535,515 units traded in the preceding session, while the value of shares traded went up by 1,264.3 per cent to N455.1 million from N33.4 million, with the number of deals growing by 22.2 per cent to 33 deals from 27 deals.
Business Post reports that there was a price gainer at the midweek session as the share price of NASD Plc grew by N1.50 to close at N16.50 per unit versus N15.00 per share it finished it closed a day earlier.
AG Mortgage Bank Plc finished the day as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 2.3 billion units worth N1.2 billion, CSCS Plc stood in second place with 674.9 million units valued at N14.1 billion, while Food Concepts Plc was in third place with 146.5 million units valued at N127.2 million.
CSCS Plc maintained its position as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 674.9 million units sold for N14.1 billion, VFD Group Plc was in second place with 10.9 million units valued at N3.2 billion, while FrieslandCampina Plc was in third place for trading 11.8 million units for N1.5 billion.
