FrieslandCampina Again Drags NASD OTC Exchange Down

FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc beat three price gainers to further drag the NASD Over-the-Course (OTC) Securities Exchange down by 0.06 per cent on Thursday, July 21.

The milk-producing company went down by N3.46 or 3.55 per cent to settle at N94.14 per share compared with the previous day’s N97.60 per share.

However, the price of Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc appreciated by N1.09 to close at N14.92 per unit versus Wednesday’s N13.83 per unit, Citi Trust Holdings Plc rose by 67 Kobo to settle at N9.47 per unit in contrast to N8.80 per unit, while Afriland Properties Plc gained 1 Kobo to trade at N1.01 per share versus N1.00 per share.

But when the market ended for the session, the NASD unlisted securities index (NSI) depleted by 0.47 points to 767.33 points from 767.80 points, while the market capitalisation dwindled by N620 million to N1.010 trillion from N1.010 trillion.

Yesterday, the total volume of shares transacted by market participants increased by 59.4 per cent to 333,659 units from 209.343 units, the value of stocks traded also improved by 84.4 per cent to N19.7 million from N10.7 million as the number of deals expanded by 7.7 per cent to 14 deals from the preceding session’s 13 deals.

AG Mortgage Plc was the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 2.3 billion units valued at N1.2 billion, CSCS Plc followed with the sale of 676.2 million units worth N14.1 billion, and Food Concepts Plc, which has transacted 146.5 million units valued at N127.2 million.

CSCS Plc ended the session as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 676.2 million units worth N14.1 billion, VFD Group Plc was in second place with a turnover of 11.1 million units valued at N3.3 billion, while FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc was in third place after trading 12.7 million units worth N1.5 billion.

Intra-African Trade Fair 2023 Attracts $43.8bn Deals
