FrieslandCampina, CSCS Lift NASD OTC Exchange by 1.05%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange appreciated by 1.05 per cent on Friday, March 10, following the positive price movements in the shares of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc.

The milk producer closed the session at N74.00 perunit after adding N4.00 to the previous trading day’s value of N70.00 per unit, while the Nigerian depository company appreciated by 43 Kobo to settle at N13.93 per share versus Thursday’s value of N13.50 per share.

The growth in the share prices of the two companies lifted the market capitalisation of the NASD OTC exchange by N9.96 billion at the close of business to N955.83 billion from N945.87 billion.

Similarly, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) increased yesterday by 7.59 points to wrap the session at 727.42 points compared with the 719.83 points recorded in the previous session.

During the trading session, there was a surge in the volume of securities traded at the bourse by 2,623.1  per cent as investors traded 10.3 million units compared with the 379,067 units traded in the preceding session.

The value of shares traded yesterday went higher by 83.3 per cent as the total equities traded amounted to N13.7 million versus the N7.5 million reported a day earlier, while the number of deals completed increased by 27.3 per cent to 14 deals from the 11 deals achieved on Thursday.

At the close of business, Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 414.9 million units worth N434.5 million, UBN Property Plc stood in second place with 360.3 units valued at N304.8 million, while VFD Group Plc was in third place with 7.2 million units valued at N1.6 billion.

Also, VFD Group Plc ended the session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 7.2 million units valued at N1.6 billion, followed by Geo-Fluids Plc with 414.9 million units worth N434.5 million, and UBN Property Plc with 360.3 million units valued at N304.8 million.
