FrieslandCampina, CSCS Trigger 0.17% Loss at NASD OTC Exchange

FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) pulled down the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 0.17 per cent on Friday, June 7.
This resulted in the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) closing lower by 2.49 points to 1,486.12 points from the 1,488.61 points recorded in the previous session, as the market capitalisation of the trading platform went down by N3.41 billion to close at N2.036 trillion compared with the previous day’s N2.040 trillion.
FrieslandCampina lost N1.72 loss during the final trading session of the week to close at N41.34 per unit compared to the previous value of N43.06 per unit, and CSCS Plc weakened by 1 Kobo to sell for N19.99 per share, in contrast to Thursday’s closing price of N20.00 per share.
During the day, the volume of shares traded by investors decreased by 72.2 per cent to 317,572 units from the 1.1 million units recorded a day earlier, while the value of securities traded increased by 43.8 per cent to N115.9 million from the N80.7 million achieved in the preceding trading session, as the number of deals slightly went up by 6.7 per cent to 48 deals from the 45 deals carried out a day earlier.
When trading activities finished for the day, Aradel Holdings Plc was the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis after selling 5.9 million units worth N14.8 billion, trailed by CSCS Plc with a turnover of 101.2 million units valued at N2.5 billion, and Capital Hotels Plc with the sale of 228.6 million units for N1.1 billion.
Capital Hotels Plc ended the trading day as the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 228.6 million units valued at N1.1 billion, followed by Mixta Real Estate Plc with the sale of 139.9 million units for N240.1 million, and CSCS Plc with the sale of 101.2 million units worth N2.5 billion.
