FrieslandCampina, IGI Spur NASD OTC Exchange to 0.46% Growth

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange returned to the positive zone on Wednesday, August 16 as it recorded a 0.46 per cent gain.

The bourse added N5.22 billion to its value to close at N1.092 trillion compared with the preceding session’s N1.087 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) improved by 3.59 points to end the day at 789.54 points, in contrast to Tuesday’s 785.95 points.

FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc appreciated during the session by N2.47 to settle at N76.50 per share versus Tuesday’s closing price of N74.03 per share, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc increased its value by 1 Kobo to quote at 11 Kobo per unit, in contrast to the preceding day’s value of 10 Kobo per unit.

At the unlisted securities exchange yesterday, the volume of securities bought and sold by traders went down by 94.5 per cent to 148,056 units from 2.7 million units, the value of shares transacted declined by 25.8 per cent to N10.2 million from N13.7 million, and the number of deals carried out decreased by 68.2 per cent to seven deals from the 22 deals executed during the previous trading session.

When trading activities ended for the day, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc was the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.1 billion units worth N21.2 billion, Geo-Fluids followed with the sale of 631.0 units valued at N1.1 billion, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc was in third place with 623.8 million units valued at N49.7 million.

Also, CSCS Plc closed the day as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 1.1 billion units worth N21.4 billion, VFD Group occupied second spot with 26.4 million units valued at N5.9 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc was in third place with 18.7 million units worth N1.3 billion.
