FrieslandCampina, Others Add N20.65bn to OTC Market Cap

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange gained 1.70 per cent or N20.65 billion on Thursday, December 21, raising the value of the platform to N1.260 trillion from the N1.240 trillion it ended a day earlier.

Also, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) witnessed an upward movement of 15.24 points during the session to settle at 929.82 points compared with the 914.58 points recorded in the previous session.

The trio of FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, and UBN Property Plc influenced the growth posted during the trading day.

FrieslandCampina added N6.32 to its value to finish at N81.00 per unit versus the previous closing price of N74.68 per unit, CSCS Plc rose by N1.57 to end the session at N20.00 per share from N18.43 per share, and UBN Property Plc gained 9 Kobo to close at N1.89 per share compared with the preceding day’s value of N1.80 per share.

However, the share price of Geo-Fluids Plc went down by 1 Kobo yesterday to settle at N2.64 per unit, in contrast to the midweek session’s closing price of N2.65 per unit.

As for the activity chart, the volume of securities traded during the session went down by 85.8 per cent to 2.9 million units from 20.5 million units and the value of transactions dropped 66.9 per cent to N18.8 million from the N56.9 million recorded in the preceding trading day, while the number of deals appreciated by 133.3 per cent to 21 deals from the nine deals posted on Wednesday.

At the close of business, UBN Property Plc was the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.7 billion units of stocks valued at N2.2 billion, CSCS Plc was in second place with 1.2 billion units sold for N22.4 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 834.1 units worth N1.7 billion.

CSCS Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 1.2 billion units worth N22.4 billion, VFD Group was in the second spot with 26.6 million units worth N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc was in third place with 7.8 million units valued at N3.2 billion.
