Geo-Fluids Influences NASD OTC Exchange’s 0.01% Rise

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a marginal 0.01 per cent gain at the second session of the week on Tuesday, January 24.

The bourse added N90 million in its valuation to close at N934.07 billion compared with the N933.98 billion it quoted at the previous session.

In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) added 0.06 points to end the day at 710.85 points as against the 710.79 points it recorded a day earlier.

Geo-Fluids Plc, the sole price gainer, appreciated by 2 Kobo during the trading day to close at 84 Kobo per unit versus Monday’s value of 82 Kobo per unit.

On the activity chart, it was a mixture of red and green as the volume of securities transacted yesterday increased by 57.4 per cent to 25.2 million units from 15.9 million units, but the value of shares traded tanked by 24.7 per cent to N20.4 million from N27.1 million, and the number of deals executed by traders went down by 58.8 per cent to seven from the 17 deals recorded on Monday.

Business Post reports that these transactions were carried out by three equities; FreislandCampina, Geo-Fluids, and UBN Property. Friesland recorded 635 securities worth N47,768, Geo-Fluids traded 20.2 million shares valued at N16.9 million, and UBN Property exchanged 5.0 million stocks worth N3.5 million.

At the close of business, Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 61.1 million units valued at N49.2 million, UBN Property Plc stood in second place with 29.7 units worth N21.1 million, while NASD Plc was in third place with 944,112 units valued at N13.6 million.

On the flip side, VFD Group Plc ended the trading session as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 422,074 units worth N103.0 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc was in second place with 834,407 units valued at N55.0 million, while Geo-Fluids Plc was in third place with 61.1 million units worth N49.2 million.
