Investors Execute Three Deals at NASD Exchange Friday

A total of three deals were executed by investors at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Friday, September 4, 2020.

Business Post reports that these were the same number of deals carried at the unlisted securities market on Thursday.

It was observed that these deals were done on securities belonging to Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc, which accounted for two, and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc with one deal.

The three deals amounted to N1.2 million, 126.4 per cent higher than the previous day’s N518,447 worth of securities exchanged by market participants.

However, the total number of shares transacted by investors depreciated by 62.6 per cent to 4,450 units from the 11,890 units traded on Thursday.

During the trading session, the NASD Exchange recorded no price movement as all the 41 admitted securities retained their previous prices.

Insurance company, ARM Life Plc, maintained its position as the most traded securities at the NASD Exchange by volume (year-to-date) with 7.4 billion units of its shares sold for N4.6 billion. It was followed by CSCS Plc, which has traded 201.1 million units worth N2.7 billion. Food Concept Plc, which has transacted 125.1 million units of its shares valued at N88.1 million, settled in the third spot.

In terms of the most active stock by value (year-to-date), ARM Life Plc also remained on top of the chart for trading 7.4 billion units of its shares worth N4.7 billion.

It was trailed by NDEP Plc, which has transacted 8.8 million units so far into the year worth N2.7 billion, then came CSCS Plc with 201 million units of its securities for N2.7 billion.

A check on the major performance indicators of the bourse yesterday showed no movement as the market capitalisation and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) closed flat at N524.64 billion and 714.21 points respectively.
