The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed on Thursday in the green zone, extending the bullish trend to 11 straight days.
Gains recorded by Nestle, Lafarge and 28 other stocks pushed the market further northward by 0.54 percent.
The market capitalisation improved by N62.4 billion today to settle at N11.61 billion, while the All-Share Index (ASI) grew by 180.9 points to finish at 33,695.83 points.
Prestige Assurance was the most active stock on Thursday with 26.8 million shares transacted at N13.4 million.
It was trailed by GTBank, which traded 18.8 million shares worth N692.4 million, and Transcorp, which exchanged 15.8 million units valued at N23.9 million.
First Bank sold 13.9 million shares for N84.5 million, while Zenith Bank transacted 11.2 million for N245.6 million.
At the close of trading activities on the floor of the NSE on Thursday, investors exchanged a total of 191.4 million shares valued at N2.2 billion executed in 3,718 deals.
Business Post correspondent reports that Nestle topped the gainers’ chart today after rising by N16.50k to finish at N920 per share.
It was followed by Lafarge, which improved by N2.60k to close at N54.60k per share and Dangote Cement, which grew by N1 to end at N209 per share.
Furthermore, UACN advanced by 81k to finish at N17.39k per share, while Flour Mills of Nigeria progressed by 58k to settle at N25.73k per share.
On the other side, Mobil depleted by N5.50k to close at N254.50k per share, while 7up dropped N4.74k to finish at N90.21k per share.
Total lost N3.39k to finish at N256.11k per share, PZ Cussons shed 80k to close at N21.25k per share, and CAP declined by 44k to settle at N35 per share.
