Investors of Unlisted Stocks Gain N5bn in Five Days

Equities admitted on the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange continued their stellar performances with another positive week-on-week performance after stretching their gains by 0.47 per cent in Week 46.

Out of the 13 stocks traded in the week under review, five ended on the gainers’ table, while four finished on the losers’ chart, with four closing flat, according to data obtained by Business Post.

The gainers were led by UBN Property Plc, which grew by 14 per cent to end at N1.55 per unit compared with the previous day’s N1.36 per unit, Aradel Holdings Plc rose by 11 per cent to finish at N792.00 per share versus the preceding week’s N715.00 per share, Acorn Petroleum Plc gained 10 per cent to close at 57 Kobo per unit compared with the earlier week’s 52 Kobo per unit, NASD Plc improved by 10 per cent to N13.30 per share from N12.10 per share, and Newrest Asl expanded by 10 per cent to end at N14.64 per unit compared with the earlier week’s N13.31 per unit.

On the flip side, Geo-Fluids lost 9 per cent to end at N2.70 per share versus the previous week’s N2.97 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc shed 5 per cent to close at N70.00 per share versus the previous week’s N74.00 per share, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc depreciated by 4 per cent to finish at N20.10 per unit versus N21.00 per unit and Food Concepts Plc recorded a 1.3 per cent loss to end the week at N1.5 per share versus N1.52 per share.

In the week, the value of the unlisted stock exchange increased by N5 billion to N1.145 trillion from N1.140 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went up by 3.93 points to 845.13 points from 841.20 points.

The total value of stocks traded during Week 46 fell by 21.9 per cent to N94.2 million from N120.6 million units in Week 45, while the volume of shares rose by 105 per cent to 7.7 million from 3.8 million, and the number of deals increased by 20.5 per cent to 88 deals from 70 deals.

FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc was the most traded stock by value with N36.3 million, Aradel Holdings Plc traded N25.2 million, CSCS Plc exchanged N13.0 million, 11 Plc traded N7.8 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc transacted N6.3 million.

In terms of the volume of trades, UBN Property Plc led with 2.5 million units, Geo-Fluids Plc followed with 2.3 million units, Acorn Petroleum Plc posted 1.5 million units, CSCS Plc recorded 0.64 million units, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc transacted 0.53 million units.
