Lafarge Board Holds Emergency Board Meeting Today

The board of directors of Lafarge Africa Plc has announced an emergency meeting slated for Tuesday, October 16, 2018 (today).

A statement issued today and signed by the scribe of the cement maker, Adewunmi Alode, explained that the meeting is mainly to consider the third quarter results for the period ended September 30, 2018.

“We  hereby  notify  the  Nigerian  Stock  Exchange  and  the  investing  public  that an emergency meeting of the Board of Directors of Lafarge Africa Plc has been scheduled to hold today, October 16, 2018 to consider the third quarter financial results of the company ended September 30, 2018 among other matters,” Alode said in the statement.

As a result of this, Lafarge Africa Plc has declared a closed period from Monday, October 15, 2018 until the release of the firm’s unaudited financial statement for Q3 2018.

“Accordingly, no Director, Employee, Persons discharging managerial responsibility and Advisers of the company and their connected persons may directly or indirectly deal in the shares of the company in any manner during the closed period,” the statement said.

Business Post reports that as the time of filing this report today, Lafarge Africa was trading at N21.50k per share on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) against N23 it was exchanged at the market yesterday.
