In the Nigerian capital market, especially at the stock market, it is common to see some groups of shareholders coming together under one or more ideology to form an association.

The sole aim of this is to push an agenda and also fight for their members in companies they have interests in and also to come under one voice to influence the implementation or stoppage of a policy or decision by regulators or companies at the capital market.

Though in recent times, the integrity of some shareholders’ groups has been bastardized by some greedy elements, it is however important to note that few others have stayed true on their vision and mission.

At Annual General Meetings (AGMs) of listed and unlisted firms, some shareholders’ groups connive with the board to influence some decisions that are not too favourable to many investors.

In this article, Business Post is updating its teeming readers with details of the 111 shareholders’ groups recognized by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and are also registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

The list contains the name of the group, its address, names of their principal officers as well as contact details in some cases.
