Market for Unlisted Nigerian Stocks Closes Flat Wednesday

Activities on the trading platform of the NASD Over-The-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange closed flat at the mid-week session on September 25, 2019 as major market indicators remained the same as they did on Tuesday.

For the market capitalisation, it iclosed at N704.15 billion, the same amount it was quoted at the previous session, while the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) ended at 505.88 points, unchanged from the previous day.

However, the total volume of trades dropped by 97.91 percent after reducing by 23,962,501 units to 512,061 units on Wednesday from the 24,474,562 units traded on Tuesday.

Similarly, the total number of deals executed by investors at the market dropped by 52.63 percent on Wednesday to 9 deals compared with the 19 deals executed on Tuesday.

But the total value of the transactions yesterday appreciated by 309.18 percent or N110.7 million to N146.5 million from the N35.8 million transacted on Tuesday.

Food Concept Plc remained at the top of trades by volume (year to date) chart with transactions of 1,158,797,004 units valued at N843.97 billion, while UBN Properties followed with 891,085,220 units worth N1.21 billion.

In terms of value (year-to-date), Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc took the top spot with 202,272,698 units worth N2.53 billion transacted, while UBN Properties followed with 884,529,600 units of its stocks sold for N1.2 billion.
