MTN Nigeria Board Meets July 24 for H1 2019 Results

Ahead of the release of its financial statements for the half year ended June 30, 2019, the board of MTN Nigeria Communications Plc will meet to consider the results.

The telecommunications company said in a disclosure today that this meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.

At the meeting, the second highest decision-making organ of the firm will consider and approve the unaudited financial statements for the six months ended June 30, 2019 along with other agenda items.

“This is to inform the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and investing public that a meeting of the board of directors of MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, 2019 to consider and approve the unaudited financial statements for the six months ended June 30, 2019 along with other agenda items,” the statement said.

As a result of this, “The company has declared a closed period in respect of transactions on its securities from Monday, July 8, 2019 until 24 hours after the unaudited financial statements have been announced in compliance with the rulebook of the exchange.”

“Accordingly, no director, employee, person discharging managerial responsibility, advisers of the company and their connected persons may directly or indirectly, deal in the securities of the company in any manner during the closed period,” the notice declared.

Business Post reports that the July 24 meet will be the first the board was holding for the consideration of its results as a listed company on the NSE.
