Not less than 200,000 graduates have been given jobs by the Federal Government under the N-Power Programme.

The programme was established to drastically reduce youth unemployment in the country.

Early last month, the Vice President, Mr Yemi Osinbajo, had promised that before the end of October, the FG would employ 200,000 graduates.

This promise seems to have been fulfilled going by the disclosure made by Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media, Mr Laolu Akande.

Mr Akande, at the second Presidential Economic Communication Workshop in Abuja, revealed that 200,000 graduates have been employed to work as teachers and agricultural extension workers across the country.

He said the 200,000 graduates were selected out of 500,000 earlier shortlisted.

In his analysis, 150,000 of these graduates were employed as teachers, while the remaining 50,000 as extension workers.

The newly employed graduates, Business Post learnt, would be placed on N30,000 salary.
