NASD Bourse Gains 0.25%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange rose by 0.25 per cent on Monday, August 22, spurring the market capitalisation growing by N6.84 billion to N2.184 trillion from the N2.177 trillion quoted at the preceding session, as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went up by 9.16 points to 3,649.10 points from 3,639.94 points last Friday.

During the trading day, the volume of securities dropped 78.8 per cent to 4.6 million units from the previous 21.6 million units, the value of transactions slumped by 40.6 per cent to N12.1 million from N20.3 million, and the number of deals jumped by 23.1 per cent to 49 deals from 20 deals.

When the market finished for the day, Okitipupa Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 158.7 million units worth N5.9 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million units transacted for N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 44.2 million units valued at N1.9 billion.

Also, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc was the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units sold for N402.9 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units worth N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.2 million units valued at N4.2 billion.

Yesterday, there were four gainers against three losers at the session.

The gainers were led by Food Concepts Plc, owners of Chicken Republic fast food outlet, after its price increased by 25 Kobo to N3.79 per share from N3.54 per share, UBN Property Plc expanded by 19 Kobo to N2.09 per unit from N1.90 per unit, IPWA Plc added 5 Kobo to close at 55 Kobo per share versus 50 Kobo per share, and  IGI Plc went up by 2 Kobo to 60 Kobo per unit from the previous 58 Kobo per unit.

On the flip side, Afriland Properties Pc dipped by N1.15 to N19.85 per share from N21.00 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc depreciated by 47 Kobo to N67.53 per unit from N68.00 per unit, and NASD Plc lost 5 Kobo to finish at N29.45 per share versus N29.50 per share.
