A marginal fall of 0.03 per cent was recorded by the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Tuesday, September 9, after three securities closed lower, overpowering the gains posted by two other stocks.

According to data from the alternative stock exchange, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) was down by 1.07 points to 3,576.28 points from the previously quoted 3,576.35 points.

In the same vein, the market capitalisation of the trading platform shrank by N640 million to remain relatively unchanged at N2.139 trillion.

Geo-Fluids Plc lost 40 Kobo during the session to close at N4.50 per unit compared with the previous day’s N4.90 per unit, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc tumbled by 6 Kobo to 55 Kobo per share from 61 Kobo per share and NASD Plc crashed by 5 Kobo to end the session at N29.40 per unit versus the previous day’s N29.45 per unit.

Conversely, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc improved its price by 35 Kobo to N41.35 per share from N41.00 per share, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc added 10 Kobo to trade at N60.10 per unit versus the previous closing value of N60.00 per unit.

Yesterday, the volume of securities traded increased by 2,057.9 per cent to 1.2 million units from 54,522 units, the value of securities went up by 184.6 per cent to N7.8 million from N2.7 million and the number of deals appreciated by 100 per cent to 24 deals from 12 deals.

When trading activities ended for the day, Okitipupa Plc was still the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 158.7 million units worth N5.9 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units valued at N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 44.7 million units sold for N1.9 billion.

IGI Plc was the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units traded for N417.6 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units worth N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units transacted for N4.2 billion.
