NASD Exchange Trades N393m Shares in 23 Deals Wednesday

There was a rise in the total volume of shares transacted by investors on the floor of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

The exchange saw a 2,495 percent or 1.5 million units increase in the trading volume at the midweek session as 1.6 million units of stocks were transacted compared with the 61,773 units of shares traded at the market on Tuesday.

In the same vein, the value of trades appreciated by 5,104 percent or 385 million to N392.5 million from N7.5 million, while the number of deals increased 666.67 percent or 20 deals to 23 deals from three deals recorded at the last session.

Despite the improvement in the level of activity at the unlisted securities market yesterday, the NASD Exchange closed without any price advancer or price decliner.

Also, the key market indices remained unchanged as the market capitalisation stayed at N503.55 billion, while the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) remained at 700.39 points.

ARM Life Plc remained as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 29 million units of its shares worth N18.3 million exchanged at the market during the session. Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc was in second place with 10.7 million units worth N120.6 million, while Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc came into the third position recording 5.7 million units of its shares worth N1.8 billion.

By value (year-to-date), NDEP Plc was on top of the chart after trading 5.7 million units of its shares worth N1.8 billion, while CSCS Plc followed with 10.7 million units transacted for N120.6 million, with FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc selling 924,259 units valued at N115.8 million.
