The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange depreciated by 0.17 per cent on Tuesday, July 11, following the weakening of the share prices of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc.

The duo made nonsense of the gains recorded by Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc and UBN Property Plc.

At the market yesterday, FrieslandCampina lost N3.27 to trade at N76.44 per share versus the previous closing price of N79.71 per share, and CSCS Plc declined by 22 Kobo to close at N18.38 per unit compared with the previous day’s N18.16 per unit.

Conversely, NDEP Plc appreciated during the session by N30.60 to trade at N336.60 per share versus Monday’s N306.00 per share, and UBN Property Plc improved by 1 Kobo to N1.10 per unit from N1.09 per unit.

But at the close of business, the market capitalisation dropped N1.88 billion to N1.076 trillion from N1.078 trillion, as the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) lost 1.36 points to wrap the session at 778.03 points compared with 779.39 points recorded at the previous session.

The volume of securities traded at the bourse on Tuesday shrank by 92.2 per cent to 314,508 units from 4.0 million units, but the value of shares went up by 353.02 per cent to N17.3 million from N3.8 million, and the number of deals carried out grew by 273.5 per cent to 27 deals from the eight deals carried out in the preceding trading session.

CSCS Plc ended the day as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.1 billion units valued at N21.2 billion, Geo-Fluids stood in second place with 625.8 units worth N1.1 billion, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc was in third place with 608.3 million units valued at N48.1 million.

CSCS Plc was also the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 1.1 billion units worth N21.2 billion, VFD Group was second with 18.9 million units valued at N4.2 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc was in third place with 625.8 million units worth N1.1 billion.
