The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its stay in the positive territory for another week (Week 9) as it rose by 1.37 per cent.
The improvement was supported by the trio of Afriland Properties Plc, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, and Geo-Fluids, while Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc depreciated.
Afriland Property Plc gained 16.3 per cent to settle at N2.00 per share versus N1.72 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc rose by 9.6 per cent to N74.50 per unit versus N68.00 per unit, and Geo-Fluids Plc increased by 6.2 per cent to N1.20 per share versus N1.13 per share.
However, the share price of CSCS Plc went down in the week by 0.7 per cent to trade at N13.50 per unit, in contrast to the preceding week’s value of N13.59 per unit.
In the end, NASD investors gained N12.92 billion, as the market capitalisation of the bourse finished at N952.64 trillion compared with the previous week’s N939.72 billion, while the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) rose by 9.84 points to wrap the week at 724.99 points compared with the 715.15 points recorded in the previous week.
In the week, there was a 68.7 per cent decrease in the total value of shares traded by investors to N57.9 million from N185.4 million, the total volume decreased by 47.4 per cent to 38.1 million units from 72.5 million units, while the number of deals shrank by 37.7 per cent to 38 trades from 61 deals.
At the close of the week, UBN Property Plc was the most traded security by volume with 30.79 million units, Geo-Fluids Plc traded 5.1 million units, Afriland Plc exchanged 860,000 units, CSCS Plc transacted 770,000 units, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc traded 610,000 units.
Also, UBN Property was the most active stock by value in the week with N26 million, VFD Group Plc followed with N12 million, CSCS Plc posted N10 million, Geo-Fluids Plc recorded N6 million while Afriland Plc raked in N2 million.
In the year so far, investors have traded a total of 461.8 million units valued at N2.14 billion completed in 593 deals.
