Shares worth N12.2 million were transacted on Tuesday, February 11 on the floor of the NASD Over the Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange. This was 6,353 percent or N12.0 million higher than the N188,800 worth of stocks transacted on Monday.
In the same vein, the exchange recorded a significant rise in the volume of shares transacted by traders during the session as 555,565 units of unlisted securities at the market exchanged hands compared with the 1,600 units achieved at the previous session. This indicated that the trading volume increased by 34,622 percent or 553, 900 units.
The session on Tuesday also had an increase in the number of deals executed by traders. It was observed that market participants carried out six deals, higher than the single deal on Monday by five deals or 500 percent.
The market closed with no price gainer or price loser.
Also, the market closed flat as key parameters finished the day at their previous levels, with the market capitalisation remaining at N501.73 billion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) at 697.86 points.
At the close of business on Tuesday, ARM Life Plc remained as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 29 million units of its shares worth N18.3 million, while Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc traded 4.2 million units valued at N49.7 million, with the Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc selling 3.7 million units traded at N1.2 billion.
In terms of value of trades (year-to-date), NDEP Plc remains the most active with 3.7 million units of its stocks sold for N1.2 billion, while FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria occupied the second spot after trading 587,857 units valued at N73.4 million with CSCS taking the third position after exchanging 4.2 million units worth N49.7 million.
