NASD OTC Exchange Depreciates by 0.02%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange closed in the negative territory following a marginal 0.02 per cent drop on Wednesday, March 10.

The defeat came on the back of loss recorded by Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc as the company’s stock went down by 13 kobo or 0.7 per cent to close at N18.39 per unit compared with N18.50 per unit it closed at the previous session.

As a result of this, the NASD unlisted securities index (NSI) moved downwards by 0.14 points to 733.30 points from 733.44 points, while the market capitalisation slipped by N120 million to wrap the day at N620.94 billion in contrast to N621.06 billion of the preceding session.

Despite the decline, the NASD OTC exchange had two price risers and they were NASD Plc and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc.

NASD Plc appreciated during the session by 83 kobo or 9.1 per cent to trade at N9.14 per share compared to N8.31 per share it ended a day earlier, while FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc appreciated by 16 kobo or 0.1 per cent to close at N125.16 per unit versus N125.00 per unit of Tuesday.

At the market, investors traded 945,875 units of shares, 970.5 per cent higher than the 88,452 units of shares transacted on Tuesday and the value of transactions increased by 421.1 per cent to N48.5 million from N9.3 million, while the number of deals increased by 120 per cent to 11 deals from the five deals achieved at the previous session.

CSCS Plc closed the day as the most traded security by volume on a year-to-date basis with 656.9 million units worth N13.8 billion, followed by AG Mortgage Bank Plc with 32.0 million units valued at N16.7 million, and NASD Plc with 22.4 million units valued at N220.3 million.

CSCS Plc also ended the session as the most traded security by value on a year-to-date basis with 656.9 million units valued at N13.8 billion, trailed by VFD Group Plc with 916,161 units worth N331.5 million, and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc with 2.5 million units traded for N312.6 million.
