NASD OTC Exchange Expands 0.13%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange rose by 0.13 per cent on Monday, September 15, pushing the market capitalisation of the bourse higher by N2.67 billion to N2.138 trillion from the preceding session’s N2.135 trillion as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went up by 4.17 points to close at 3,574.42 points, in contrast to the previous trading day’s 3,569.95 points.

The growth was driven by the gains recorded by four securities on the trading platform, overpowering the loss posted by a single stock, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, while lost N4.86 during the session to settle at N60.00 per share compared with the N64.86 it ended last Friday.

According to data, Afriland Properties Plc appreciated yesterday by N2.03 to close at N22.93 per unit versus N20.90 per unit, Food Concepts Plc went up by 34 Kobo to close at N3.81 per share versus N3.47 per share, UBN Property Plc grew by 14 Kobo to N2.15 per unit from N2.01 per unit, and Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC) Plc chalked up 1 Kobo to end at N2.95 per share compared with the preceding session’s N2.94 per share.

The volume of securities traded at the bourse during the session was down by 84.8 per cent to 247,313 units from 1.6 million units, but the value of securities traded went up by 72.9 per cent to N5.9 million from N3.9 million, and the number of deals increased by 12.5 per cent to 27 deals from 24 deals.

Okitipupa Plc ended the day as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 158.7 million units valued at N5.9 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units worth N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 44.8 million units transacted for N1.9 billion.

Also, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc was the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units sold for N418.4 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units traded for N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units worth N4.2 billion.
