For yet another week, the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange extended its bullish performance as it gained 13.7 per cent in Week 36.
This raised the market capitalisation of the unlisted stock exchange by N357 billion to N2.967 trillion from the N2.610 trillion it recorded in Wek 35.
Similarly, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) recorded a 261.17 points gain to end the week at 2,165.59 points versus 1,904.42 points in the preceding week.
During the five-day trading week, there were five price gainers and three price losers, indicating a strong investor sentiment and a positive market breadth index.
Aradel Holdings Plc extended its run with a 21.4 per cent rise to close at N9,000.00 per share compared with the previous closing value of N7,413.51 per share, Geo Fluids gained 21 per cent to end at N2.42 per unit against the former value of N2.00 per unit, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc recorded a 10.5 per cent gain to end at N21.00 per share compared with the previous week’s N19.00 per share, Nipco Plc added 10 per cent to finish at N79.20 per unit against the former value of N72.00 per unit, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc recorded a 0.9 per cent appreciation to close the week at N48.00 per share, in contrast to the previous week’s N47.58 per share.
On the flip side, Acorn Petroleum Plc led the losers with a 10 per cent depreciation to settle at 90 Kobo per unit against the former value of N1.00 per unit, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc slumped by 9.5 per cent to 19 Kobo per share from 21 Kobo per share, and Afriland Properties Plc depreciated by 1.2 per cent to end at N14.60 per unit versus N14.77 per unit.
The volume of equities traded during Week 36 rose by 376.4 per cent to 12.3 million units from 2.6 million units in the previous week, the total value slumped 26.9 per cent to N3.1 billion from N4.25 billion, and the number of deals increased by 9.03 per cent to 338 deals from 310 deals.
Aradel Holdings Plc topped the activity chart by value last week with N3.06 billion, followed by Geo-Fluids Plc with N250 million, CSCS Plc Plc recorded N130 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc posted N2 million, and Afriland Properties Plc also reported N2 million.
But Geo Fluids Plc was the most traded security by volume with 10.9 million units, trailed by CSCS Plc with 0.623 million units, Aradel Holdings Plc exchanged 0.332 million units, IGI Plc transacted 0.148 million units, and Afriland Properties Plc traded 0.113 million units.
