NASD OTC Exchange Extends Rally by 0.55%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a further rise of 0.55 per cent, extending its stay in the green territory to a fourth straight session on Thursday, November 7.

This increased the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) by 4.81 points to wrap the session at 872.54 points compared with 867.73 points in the previous session, as the market capitalisation of the OTC exchange jumped by N6.52 billion to settle at N1.182 trillion, in contrast to the preceding trading day’s N1.176 trillion.

The unlisted securities market ended the trading session with two price gainers, 11 Plc and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc.

11 Plc gained N6.53 to close the day at N182.53 per unit compared with the previous day’s rate of N176.00 per unit, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc grew by N2.13  to close at N75.00 per share versus Wednesday’s closing price of N72.87 per share.

At the market yesterday, there was a fall in the volume of securities traded by 99.8 per cent as investors exchanged 55,699 units compared with the midweek session’s 25.1 million units.

Similarly, the value of shares traded at the session went down by 89.1 per cent to N8.4 million from the N77.2 million achieved in the preceding trading day, as the number of deals decreased by 27.3 per cent to close at eight deals, in contrast to the 11 deals carried out in the preceding trading session.

The most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis was Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS), which has transacted 1.2 billion units valued at N22.4 billion, UBN Property Plc trailed with the sale of 1.1 billion units worth N1.2 billion, as Geo-Fluids Plc remained in third place with 729.5 units valued at N1.4 billion.

Also, the most transacted stock by value on a year-to-date basis was CSCS Plc with a turnover of 1.2 billion units for N22.4 billion, followed by VFD Group with 26.6 million units worth N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc with 7.8 million units valued at N3.1 billion.
