NASD OTC Exchange Gains 0.11%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 0.11 per cent appreciation on Monday, October 16 as investors gained about N1.18 billion, increasing the market capitalisation of the bourse to N1.107 trillion from the N1.106 trillion it closed in the preceding session.

Following the same trend was the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI), which increased by 0.87 points to wrap the day at 817.28 points compared with 816.41 points recorded last Friday.

The growth posted during the session was driven by the 26 Kobo improvement in the share price of Geo Fluids Plc to N3.00 per unit from N2.74 per unit, and the 15 Kobo jump in the value of Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc to N19.94 per share from the N20.09 per share.

Conversely, UBN Property Plc was the lone price loser during the first trading day of the week, losing 12 Kobo to close at N1.33 per unit versus last Friday’s N1.45 per unit.

Yesterday, the volume of securities traded by investors increased by 1,110.6 per cent to 13.8 million units from 1.1 million units, as the value of shares traded during the session rose by 2,009.4 per cent to N113.9 million from N5.4 million.

These transactions were carried out in 19 deals compared with the 12 deals executed in the preceding trading session, indicating a 58.3 per cent rise.

CSCS Plc ended the trading day as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units valued at N22.3 billion, UBN Property Plc was in second place with 952.8 million units valued at N950.8 million and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 679.5 units worth N1.3 billion.

CSCS Plc also ended the trading day as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis as it traded 1.2 billion units for N22.3 billion, VFD Group followed with 26.6 million units worth N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc was in third place with 6.8 million units valued at N2.6 billion.
