NASD OTC Exchange Rises 0.33% to 3,545.92 Points

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange rose by 0.33 per cent on Thursday, September 18, after the share prices of three stocks outweighed the loss posted by a stock.

During the session, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) went up by 11.70 points to 3,545.92 points from the 3,534.22 points it ended a day earlier, and the market capitalisation expanded by N7.00 billion to close at N2.114 trillion, in contrast to the preceding session’s N2.114 trillion.

Afriland Properties Plc depreciated for another trading day by N2.28 to settle at N20.62 per unit versus the N22.90 per unit it ended at midweek.

However, Food Concepts Plc appreciated by 38 Kobo to close at N4.19 per share versus Wednesday’s closing price of N3.81 per share, Impresit Bakalori Plc added 13 Kobo to its value to finish at N1.52 per unit compared with the preceding day’s N1.39 per unit, and Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC) Plc appreciated by 1 Kobo to end at N2.95 per share versus N2.94 per share.

Yesterday, the volume of securities transacted by investors went down by 82.5 per cent to 78,871 units from 450,722 units, the value of securities shrank by 98.9 per cent to N666,213.95 from N63.7 million, while the number of deals soared by 12.5 per cent to 27 deals from 24 deals.

At the close of business, Okitipupa Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 158.7 million units valued at N6.0 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units worth N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 44.9 million units traded for N2.0 billion.

Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc remained as the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units transacted for N418.4 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units sold for N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units valued at N4.2 billion.
