NASD OTC Market Capitalisation Jumps 3.8% in Week 51

In the 51st week of trading in 2023, the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange appreciated by 3.8 per cent, raising the total value of the platform by N35.94 billion to N1.260 trillion from the N1.224 trillion it ended in Week 50, with the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) gaining 26.51 points to close at 929.50 points compared with the preceding week’s 902.99 points.

In the five-day trading week, the total volume of stocks traded slumped by 91.1 per cent to 57.9 million units from 647.3 million in the preceding week. The value of shares also slid by 82.4 per cent to N244.2 million from N1.4 billion, and the number of deals decreased by 52.4 per cent to 83 deals from 84 deals.

In the week, there were five price gainers and three price losers.

Food Concepts Plc appreciated by 10.2 per cent to close at N1.84 per share compared with the previous week’s N1.67 per share, Aradel Holdings Plc added 10 per cent to end at N1,089 per unit compared with the preceding week’s N990.00 per unit, UBN Property Plc rose by 8.6 per cent to N1.90 per unit versus N1.75 per unit, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc went up by 6.8 per cent to close at N20.00 per share compared with Week 50’s value of N18.72 per share, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc also chalked up 6.8 per cent to close at N80.75 per share, in contrast to the previous week’s N75.60 per share.

Inversely, 11 Plc dropped 10 per cent to end at N180.00 per unit compared with the previous week’s price of N200.00 per unit, Acorn Petroleum Plc slid by 9.1 per cent to finish at 60 Kobo per share versus 66 Kobo per share, and Geo-Fluids Plc weakened by 0.4 per cent to close at N2.64 per unit compared with the preceding week’s N2.65 per unit.

Geo-Fluids Plc was the most traded stock by value in the week with N137.6 million, Aradel Plc traded N46.2 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria  Plc exchanged N38.5 million, CSCS Plc transacted N12.5 million, and 11 Plc traded N2.47 million.

In terms of the volume of trades in the week, Geo-Fluids Plc also topped with 52.0 million units, UBN Property Plc followed with 1.8 million units, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc posted 1.4 million units, Acorn Petroleum Plc recorded 1.2 million units, and CSCS Plc transacted 0.68 million units.
