The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 0.08 per cent decline on Monday, July 31, which chopped off N400 million from the total value of the bourse.

As a result, the market capitalisation of the NASD OTC securities exchange went down to N1.077 trillion from the N1.077 trillion it finished last Friday, while the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) dropped 0.30 points to end the day at 778.66 points compared with the preceding session’s 778.96 points.

Geo-Fluids Plc was the sole price loser as its price went down by 10 Kobo to close at N2.80 per share versus last Friday’s closing price of N2.90 per share.

It overran the 1 Kobo gained by the single price gainer of the trading day, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc, closing at N77.62 per unit compared with the previous trading day’s N77.61 per unit.

Yesterday, the volume of securities traded at the bourse increased by 2,929.2 per cent, as investors bought and sold 5.1 million units, in contrast to the 169,468 units traded in the previous trading session.

Equally, the value of shares traded during the trading session improved by 143.3 per cent to N18.5 million from the N7.6 million achieved last Friday.

These transactions were executed in 15 deals, in contrast to the 14 deals reported in the previous trading session, representing an increase of 7.1 per cent.

Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc remained the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.1 billion units worth N21.2 billion, Geo-Fluids stood in second place with 631.0 units valued at N1.1 billion, while Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc was in third place with 608.3 million units worth at N48.1 million.

CSCS Plc also closed the trading day as the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 1.1 billion units valued at N21.2 billion, VFD Group maintained the second spot with 18.9 million units worth N4.2 billion, while FrieslandCampico Wamco Nigeria Plc was in third place with 17.7 million units valued at N1.3 billion.
